Nabta.
Rooted in local strength
Nabta supports vulnerable communities in Lebanon from within. Our work focuses on education, livelihoods, and direct support for families who fall through the cracks of formal systems. Our work is rooted in dignity, trust, and long-term solidarity.
At Nabta, we grow solutions together. We build on what’s already strong: people’s skills, relationships, and resilience. Led by people with lived experience.

How we support
Sometimes it is hard to picture where your support goes. These are real cases from our team on the ground.
The war’s domino effect
Yara’s family had learned to live with very little. With her husband’s income, they were able to afford a small apartment and keep their three children in school.
This changed overnight when the shop where her husband worked could no longer survive the economic consequences of the war and was forced to close. He lost his income immediately. To make matters worse, he was injured in a scooter accident during his search for new work.
Medical bills began to accumulate in the middle of the war, while their only source of income had disappeared.
The family was forced to make difficult decisions. The children were taken out of school to reduce costs, and her husband’s injury was left untreated so they could prioritize paying rent and avoid losing their home.
How we helped
We covered the cost of medical treatment. We also paid one month of rent to stabilize the situation and helped cover the remaining school fees for their three children, allowing them to return to school and complete the year.
A place to go
Sawan is a widow. She supports her two children, aged 13 and 16, by cooking meals and cleaning houses. It is not much, but it has been enough to keep them fed and in school.
Then an evacuation order is issued for her neighborhood.
Suddenly, everything stops.
She leaves her home and stays for a week with our team members Hala and Tarek. There is no income, no savings, and no clear way forward.
The fear of the bombardments becomes too much.
For a family that has already been through so much, staying no longer feels possible.
They long to return to family in Syria.
But they have no way to pay for the journey.
How we helped
A one time donation made the journey to Syria. It covered their travel costs and gave them enough to get through the first days on the road. A way out, and a chance to start again.
One worry less
Kuna has worked in Lebanon for years as a housekeeper, sending money home to support her children in Cameroon.
When the war began, her employers fled and left her behind. She suddenly lost her job and her income. She ended up on the street, and later found a place in a shelter. While her basic needs are now covered, the money she used to send home has stopped.
Her family back home is at risk of losing their house.
Kuna wants to return, but for now she is waiting for repatriation through the embassy, which is operating at limited capacity.
The stress about her family at home was putting her futher at risk.
How we helped
A small donation allowed her to cover three months of rent for her family. Her kids will now have a roof above their head until she comes back. One less worry, while she waits.
Some of our successes
Over the last years we’ve been working to improve living conditions in ways that are sustainable, respectful, and community-led.
The true impact of our work is felt in relationships, stories, and daily lives – but the numbers offer a glimpse into the scale and reach of what we’ve been able to do together.

What We Do
We focus on three areas that help grow stability and skills.
Education
We help youth go to school and offer extra classes for those who have fallen behind, so they can catch up and move forward with confidence.
Business development
With local trainers, we support people who want to start small businesses. Through vocational training, small funds, mentorship and tool sharing we empower our community.
Practical support
When people face medical emergencies, or risk losing their home or basic neccesities, we step in with practical help: covering bills or rent when no one else can.
Creating the conditions that allow our networks in Lebanon to bloom
